Logo Version 1
A television pilot is a standalone episode of a television series that is used to sell the show to a television network. I was asked to design a logo for a web pilot episode of cnbc tech check. At first the Producers wanted an old school tech logo so amongst a few designs, this logo was the favorite.
Logo in Environment
The original plan was to tape the show with a green screen background so I began to simulate what that may look like.
They wanted me to add more elements of light and texture and for the tech check text to be on the same plane, so the result is the image you see here.
Different Direction
Ultimately we decided to go in a different direction, something more simple and similar to the current prime time look so here are some mocks of a different direction.

I then sent the concept designs to the animator, Jackie Dessel, and she created a gorgeous open animation. After the animation was complete the pilot was edited for the CNBC Specials team, and they had to present it to upper management for approval.
